Editorial policy

What we publish, how we decide what to recommend, and the lines we will not cross.

Our standards

  • We do not invent statistics, testimonials, reviews, customer counts or professional endorsements. If we cannot source a figure, we leave it out.
  • Breed information describes tendencies, not guarantees, and is written to be editorially reviewed and updated over time.
  • We avoid precise health or longevity claims about individual breeds. Health questions belong with a veterinarian and, where relevant, a responsible breeder or rescue.

How our matching works

Our Find My Perfect Dog tool and product recommendations use transparent, rules-based scoring. We compare the answers you give against structured attributes we maintain for each breed or product category, and every match score is derived from those rules. No artificial intelligence, scientific testing or behavioural assessment is involved, and we never describe it as such.

Commercial content

Editorial recommendations, sponsored placements and affiliate links are three different things and are always labelled differently. Sponsored placements are marked “Sponsored”. Affiliate links carry a disclosure near the recommendation as well as on our affiliate disclosure page. Commercial relationships never change the ordering of an editorial recommendation without a label.
