Can dogs eat chicken?
Plain cooked, boneless chicken is a high-value everyday reward.
Why
Plain cooked chicken breast is lean, digestible and one of the most reliable training rewards. It must be boneless — cooked bones splinter — and free of seasoning, especially onion and garlic.
Portion guidance
Small pea-sized pieces for training; a few tablespoons of shredded meat as a topper.
Preparation
Poach, bake or boil with no oil, salt, stock, onion or garlic. Remove all bones and skin, then shred or dice.
Important warnings
Never feed cooked bones. Avoid rotisserie or takeaway chicken, which is usually seasoned. Chicken is a common allergen for some dogs.
